The Family Battenberg sign to Stolen Body Records and share new single "Bed Bug"
We're thrilled to welcome The Family Battenberg to the Stolen Body Records family.
The Cardiff four-piece have just shared their new single "Bed Bug" — the first taste of their debut album Super Deluxe, out 20 November — and it's a perfect introduction to the band: a home-made version of '70s glam meets garage-punk heft and a dose of bubblegum pop, all in a 45RPM-friendly two minutes and fifty-one seconds.
It follows a run of live shows that's seen the band turn up at just about every showcase going — SXSW and The Great Escape included — plus support slots alongside CLASH faves Getdown Services.
The press have been quick to catch on. Clash call "Bed Bug" "exhilarating garage-pop entertainment… an ultra-colourful single with a primal stomp" that veers "from Marc Bolan to Jack White," while whynow describe it as "raucous and colourful with a heavy, primal stomp."Still Listening have tipped the self-styled "spider rock" band as ones to watch, channelling The Stooges, T. Rex and The White Stripes.
